and this second is a thrift store somewhere around 82nd Ave and I-205 -- if you take Sandy Blvd all the way out into the Northeast part of the city...

here's one more old-looking Portland bulding shot -- this in Southeast Portland, in the old industrial area down by the river and railroad tracks...

Below are a few that show Portland's unique mix of nature and industry. This first is a bike path along the Columbia Slough in North Portland.

These following images are three different shots looking west from an overpass near the tip of Portland's peninsula (it's called a peninsula because the Willamette and Columbia rivers meet at a point on the north tip of the city). You can see the West Hills in the distance. I think the second of these three is my favorite, but I'm not sure. I think maybe it becomes too ordinary when it loses the fence in the foreground (in the last photo). what do you think?

one last landscape shot for now-- sunset along the Willamette -- from Southeast Portland, facing downtown...

and then a very different shot -- from my trip to Estacada for the 4th of July parade -- this is from the Safari Lounge in downtown Estacada (famous for their stuffed animals) -- here are a couple of polar bears chearing on the parade.
(by the way, the baby on the sliding board in my shots from the fourth of july I sent out yesterday was not a real baby, in case you thought it looked a little odd, and maybe at risk sitting up on that slide by itself!)
ok, that's all for now...
