Portland Landscapes

I developed some new film the other day. here are some recent shots of a wetland area near our house in North Portland. There is so much beauty right her in the city!!

the area is called "smith and bybee lakes" -- and is supposedly makes up one of the nation's largest urban freshwater wetlands. here's a link. we saw beavers, otters, geese, ducks, comerants, turtles, frogs and snakes in our short visit. and it's only 2 miles from our house!!!

I like this one below in particular, even though it seems quite ordinary -- there's something about the delicacy of the tree lines and serene reflection in the water...

and this, last frame (below) of a bulk loaded roll --so light fog penetrating the edge of the frame on the right side.

and one last one, an urban landscape from very near our house here in st. johns -- another ordinary shot -- but a little glimpse of the serenity I find in my morning walks... it's nice to be back in Portland -- on the green, glistening western slopes of the Cascades!
